“When the body of a missing NCIS facilities manager is found four months after disappearing on the day of the Navy Yard bombings, NCIS Season 10 Episode 2 the NCIS team is assigned to investigate the strange case for one of their own. Meanwhile, the team is required to complete mandatory psych evaluations with a crisis counselor, and Gibbs is most concerned about Abby’s recurring nightmares since the bombing.”
As the NCIS Season 10 Episode 2 clip for “Recovery” (below) shows, Jimmy has taken over for Ducky while he’s out on medical leave. How will that change Jimmy? Tony does comment that he could be getting “a little cocky in Ducky’s big boy shoes” after Jimmy makes a comment about body decay, but Ziva reassures him he’s not when it’s clear Jimmy’s worried about coming across that way. The dark complexion is from the pond silt. Will Ducky be forced to go home after this, or will he hang around providing insight?
In the NCIS Season 10 Episode 2 called “Extreme Prejudice,” we finally find out what happened to everyone when the bomb went off and see with how they deal with the effects of Dearing’s attack.
NCIS Season 10 Episode 2 First of all, they started us out with Ducky which was great. I’m also glad that he didn’t immediately go straight back to work, but took it easy as it allowed Palmer to step up and act as M.E. for the team. But even though Palmer was doing Ducky’s job, I’m glad that he did it with his own Palmer-like flair. Ducky is known for his stories and Palmer is getting known for his inappropriate jokes.
Next up was Tony and Ziva. I do wish Tony’s dad had called him though. NCIS Season 10 Episode 2 The next big story (at least I thought it was going to be big) was McGee. That voice deep inside the big, bad agents with guns who don’t want to admit that they’re scared when their worlds fall apart and people die.
Both Vance and Fornell had small bits to play, but they both added to the story and I liked how they both were there to support Gibbs when he needed it.
NCIS Season 10 Episode 2 Even before Dearing had hurt Gibbs’ family, I knew that Dearing wasn’t long for this world. But blowing up NCIS was the final straw. The way that Gibbs caught him was a bit unexpected though. That Dearing would give Gibbs clues to lead him to the house where his son was born and then try to claim that he and Gibbs were alike because they both lost their children – that was an angle I didn’t think he would use. NCIS Season 10 Episode 2 The season 9 finale ended with Ducky having a heart attack, and as the premiere showed, while he’s still recovering, that didn’t stop him from being the one to identity the remains as not being Harper Dearing. Fortunately, there is an upcoming episode to look forward to, “Phoenix,” which will involve Ducky having “to step up and rediscover his mojo.” The team needs Ducky around and everything he brings to the table, including his expertise, his insight, and his anecdotes. However, it also sounds like they’re handling it the right way because while Ducky may be “stronger than all of [them] combined,” as Vance commented, even he can’t just bounce right back after a heart attack.
Also coming up in NCIS Season 10 Episode 2 is “a really touching, emotional scene with Vance because Vance feels responsible for bringing that bomb onto the navy yard,” which is “part of this fallen heroes theme that’s going to carry through the season.” Vance already made it clear he felt guilt because he drove his car onto the Navy Yard, and Gibbs pointing out he couldn’t have known didn’t help. Finally, there’s the matter of what Gibbs was doing in his basement. Will the season finale somehow top the season 9 finale cliffhanger, and could Gibbs’ new project somehow be part of that?
